So, today, we decided to go to Babies R Us to return a few things and potentially get a few others. We decided to go in the evening, with Joseph, after YMCA camp. 🙂 It was a good thing, too because everything took longer than “planned”.
Ron got the travel swing packaged up (returning because it didn’t work well for the girls — they are just too little and it has too little support) around 5:00 pm. I pumped from 5-5:20 and then was to get the girls ready. Abby, of course, was hungry. So, I sat down to nurse her. Bt 5:45 pm she was done and we packed her and Emily up in their car seats, packed the van with all the stuff and stroller and headed to get boy.
Granted, we’re supposed to pick him up at 6:00 pm (at the very latest) and we got there at 5:59pm! I never quite intended to be so late, but everything literally took an extra 10-15 minutes.
So, we got to Babies R Us with two sleeping girls. And, guess what? They woke up hungry! Now, for Emily, this was at the 3 hour mark. But for Abby, miss piglet, it was only 1.5 hours later. So, off to the Mother’s room to nurse. There was another lady in there, so I nursed Emily for about 10 minutes while Ron, Joseph and Abby waited outside. When she left, I got them and nursed Abby while Emily got her diaper changed and vegged with Daddy. Of course, once Em got her diaper changed, she wanted to eat more, so I swapped her out with Abby and we repeated the cycle.
From that point, Ron and I decided we need some “emergency” bottles. We didn’t quite come prepared, so our Babies R Us outing had a baby-feed hiatus of nearly 45 minutes! We’ve corrected that situation, needless to say!
Our purchases for the evening include two new swings. These are not considered travel swings, but they do fold up nicely and aren’t quite as big and bulky as the general swings most people buy. I like them alot. Now, if we only had more room in the living room to be able to keep all this stuff easily accessible!
Oh, of course, while at B.RUS, we got lots of “oh, how cute!” and “wow, twins!” and even a “how many days old are they?” to which we had to respond, a month! I guess they really look little! We see them getting bigger and bigger, but even at 6lbs (approximately) they are still small!
