Whenever we go out, tons of people talk about us, stop us to talk or point and ooh and ahh over the girls. We make a pretty big scene with the double stroller, cart, 5 people, etc.
Tonight, we went to Target to get some stuff, so we were all over the store. The girls were happily strolling and Em was leaning over trying to reach the basket beneath.
Ron wanted to go looking for something and I needed to get something else, so we eventually split up. Joseph went with Ron and the girls with me.
As I was pushing the stroller to the aisle I wanted to get to, I had at least 2 people comment on the girls. Then, as I’m standing in the aisle… stopped… picking out Balance Bars from the shelf, this woman says “How can you go out shopping? I bet you get stopped by so many people and asked questions.”
Well, by this time, I was moving again and she was somewhat following me. She finally said “How do you do it?” and I said “I just don’t stop.”
And, I didn’t. As she’s asking me these questions which is ultimately the exact thing she’s complaining people must do to me all the time, I kept walking. 🙂
And you know what? I don’t feel guilty at all! She was being just as nosy, intrusive and questioning as everyone else! I learned, from other twin parent that to shop effectively, you must just ignore and keep moving!
