Bickers’ Christmas

We started our Christmas weekend with a Bickers’ family get-together at Pam and Dave’s. Everyone was in attendance, including Catherine’s dog. Lunch was around 1pm with presents following.

The neat part about lunch was the dessert that Pam made – one ring at a time! It is called a “garland cake” or kransakake (don’t count on my spelling as it’s Norwegian).

It tasted like a nutty cookie and was both crunchy and soft. Very delicious! Ron and I took the bottom two rings home.

The formal living room held their Christmas tree
and was where we spent our time opening gifts and such. Even Emily and Abby participated! Well, they participated until they got tuckered out, that is.

Strangely enough (ok, not really), the twins favorite part of the present unwrapping was the wrapping paper and/or the bags which stored the paper. 🙂 Here’s Abby (I think) enjoying a paper bag.

Great-Grandma was there, too and Em hung out with her a bit.

We wrapped up the Bickers’ family Christmas time around 4pm (when Doug, Geri and kids left) officially and 7:30/8pm unofficially (when we left for the other Grandma and Grandpa’s house).

I think the kids loved their gifts as they were excited about everything… except the clothes. Well, the boys weren’t too excited about them, but Sara got some great stuff. If it were a little bigger, Geri might have had to “steal” it from her! 😉
