We had our 4 month appointment today and all is well. No. It’s great! 🙂
Developmentally the girls are ahead in almost everything! The Dr. tried to get them to sit and they’d have nothing to do with that… had to stand (by holding their hands of course). Dr. was very impressed.
They both bring their hands to midline, but neither of us had noticed them looking at their hands … until we got home and sure enough, Abby was doing it. 🙂
They coo and “talk” (but not on command, so the Dr. didn’t get to experience their noise making!) And, trust me, they talk!
They smile like crazy…. and Emily was a big flirt with her Dr. Abby, not so much. Maybe she figured out what was coming.
Dr. said they have GREAT head control, which we know.
They rolled, of course, but only once. Counts though! 🙂
Emily’s head is shaping up nicely, but still has a relatively flat area. Dr. thinks that will even out over time and doesn’t require any worrying over.
Abby is already showing signs of separation anxiety, not liking to be alone when I leave the room. Dr. said this was early, but not unheard of.
Emily now weighs 12lbs even (20th percentile)! She’s 24.25 inches long (45th percentila) and is in the 5th percentile for head size at 33.3cm. We honestly figured that one would be larger! 😉
Abby is 12lbs 6oz (25th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (55th percentile) and is also just under the 5th percentile for head size at 33cm.
Emily has caught up to Abby quite a bit. Started out 1 lb less, then 7 ounces less and now 6 ounces less! And, started out 2″ shorter and is now only .25″ shorter!
We are staying on the .5cc dose of Zantac, once per day until 6 months at least. It just seems to help them out enough throughout the day.
They each got 2 shots and the RSV shot (Synagis). We go back next Friday for the other 2… I just wouldn’t let them do 5 shots each today! 🙁
We’ve been ok’d to start food as we wish. *That* will be fun! I’ll be getting the Rice cereal tonight for a taste test tomorrow.
It’s just wonderful! I’m so incredibly thankful to God for giving me such wonderful babies!
Oh, and, the Dr. was quite impressed that both girls are exclusively fed from breastmilk (bottle or straight from the source). The nurse was amazed, the Dr. was, but not us! 🙂
Here they are with their shot band-aids on!
