Today was walk to school day for Olive Chapel. Since we’re so close to the school, Joseph and I walked. Or, rather, Joseph scootered and I walked. The girls joined us, too all bundled up in blankets because it was rather chilly outside! This was the first walk to school this year and the first the girls participated in.
We made it there in about 10-15 minutes with stops at the “walking bus stop” for Ashley Downs. Our “behind us” neighbor was there with her daughter and baby and we chatted for a bit. She didn’t know we’d had the girls! 😉
I made it there and back in 30 minutes (which is walking kind of fast). I had to be back at 9am for a conference call and made it with 10 minutes to spare.
Joseph had his picture taken by one of the teachers, with him on his scooter with his bookbag on his back. Then, he had another taken with the girls in their stroller. Didn’t seem too happy with that one. I was thinking it was because the girls were in the picture. Don’t know though.
Joseph got a “I walked to school” sticker and the offered bottles of water to all the kids that walked, but he chose not to get one.
I heard all sorts of comments about the girls… “ooh, twins!” and “oh my, she must have her hands full”” and “Oh my goodness, there are two!” and “how precious” and “wow” etc. You know? If there were only one, I wouldn’t get these comments! 🙂
