A nice “twin” conversation

Generally, I only comment about the stupid questions, like “Are they twins?” (duh!), “Boy or Girl?” (do boys wear pink?), etc. so today, I thought I’d write about the nice comment we got at church.

There was a woman behind me with 4-5 teenage looking kids next to her. Often, at the beginning of church, there is a “meet and greet” thing, always preceeded with a question used to break the ice, so to speak.

Emily and Abby were in their car seats in front of us, on the floor. I turned around to greet the folks behind me, when this woman (with the teens) points to two completely different looking girls and says “they are twins — very fraternal, I know.” Obviously, she understood and recognized that we had twins and that they were in fact twins! 🙂

I responded with “Mine are identical”. And she responded “I can see that completely”. And, she could tell they were girls!

So, for the first time, I “walked away” (in this case turned around) from a conversation with a stranger, about my twin girls, without that horrible sense of frustration due to what I consider “stupid questions”. 🙂
