Emi had her very first (and probably last for a LONG time) haircut on Friday. She’s had that “rat tail” of hair that she did not pull out — and as she’s stopped pulling, that has continued to grow, but the rest wasn’t catching up. So, over time, I suggested we have it cut and Ron couldn’t bear to … and finally, when I’d planned to do their 4th birthday photos — he and I agreed it should be cut.
So, I took both girls to Snipits. It’s a haircut place in Apex that is exclusively for kids. I know the owner and thought it would be a great place to go given how I didn’t know how the girls would react. I figured we’d have Emi’s hair “styled” and also have Abby’s “styled.”
In any case, after about 10 minutes of worry and anxiety over not wanting to sit in the chair, Emi agreed to sit in it as long as it was pink. There happened to be a pink chair on the other side of the store and the stylist just rolled hers over and rolled the pink one in place and tada!
Emi listened, watched the movie, had her hair sprayed, cut and “styled” with little butterfly clips.
Then, it was Abby’s turn. Well, Abby doesn’t like pink, so she wanted the blue chair back. The stylist rolled the pink one back and the blue one back into place and Abby took her turn for a spray and style (no cut).
All in all a GREAT experience and Emi’s hair is SO much better. If you didn’t know, you might not even know … it was a simple trim that I did NOT want to do myself and risk messing up. 🙂
Oh, and they also gave me a lock of Em’s hair in a little baggie. 🙂
