Our treadmill has *mostly* died. It’s been 8 loooooooooooooong years since we bought it. It was an “off the shelf” model from Sears and it has served me very well… Ron mostly well and most recently, Joseph! But, a few weeks ago, the belt started showing some signs of serious wear. Then this past week, it developed a hole and when Ron walked on it the other day it split.
Could we find a belt? Yeah … but it also needs a motor. Could we find that? Probably, but it’s an OLD machine and we’ve both talked about buying bigger and better so it’ll last 20 years instead of just 8.
So, after some Consumer Reports research, we found the perfect model … the Sole F80. A reasonably priced, highly rated model that is available from numerous sources online as well as physical stores — like Dicks Sporting Goods.
So, in true Aimee and Ron style, we decided we’d “run” by the Raleigh Dick’s store and check it out. They only had the F63, but the Triangle Town Center store had all of them, so we drove up north.
That store did NOT have them all, just the F63 and the F85 — a HIGHER END model. I asked Ron why he didn’t want to buy that one? $$$$ It was pricey. But … as luck would have it (and this is what happens to us regularly) it was on clearance for $200 less than regular price.
So we asked about it. Well … it turned out that THAT ONE was the only one left … ANYWHERE. So, if we were willing to buy the floor model (always!) we’d get ANOTHER $200 off!!! As Emi says … “Woohoo!”
We snatched it up. Got Catherine and Aaron to pick up the kids, got the Dick’s employees to load the thing into the van (since we were in way-North Raleigh) and I got a no interest card for 12 months! We got an AWESOME treadmill for $400 less than the online advertised prices!
It is *very* nice. Lots of programs, two programs that can be custom built and just lots of features. Plus it’s a very high end treadmill, so it WILL last forever. 🙂
I walked on it this morning and it was very nice — smooth — quiet — excellent. 🙂
Woohoo!!
