Differences in a single baby and double babies :)

I was in one of those thoughtful moods today and realized that with our two girls, there are so many things that are different than with our one boy (in just their 3 short months so far). Stuff I never, in a million years, would have considered/thought about if I didn’t have a set of multiples. Like…

– Using both breasts at the same time.
– Going through 20 diapers in ONE day
– Preparing 8 bottles a day (Joseph only ever took 4 max while in daycare)
– Running the dishwasher nearly daily (too many bottles!)
– Swaddling two babies in one large beach towel after a bath.
– Feeding each individually, multiple times in the middle of the night because *that’s* when they wake up!
– You can’t share the baby with your spouse; because there is another waiting in the wings if you do!
– Eating one-handed is possible. Eating with your feet is really not advised.
– I’ve never spent so much time on one website (TwinStuff that is!)
– All the attention from perfect strangers; intimate questions that really shouldn’t be asked; and the dreaded “Are they twins?” one.

As I was listing these things in my head, I realized that while two is more than double the work of one, I wouldn’t trade it for the world, because I also get… double the smiles, laughs, slobbery, bubble-making faces and more than double the love in return.
