Well … I did it.

I put an offer on a new studio today. It’s a purchase, not a lease. Ron and I went through all the details last night and honestly, I should have done this a year ago when I first saw the place. But I didn’t. Hopefully I can reuse a lot of what’s in my current studio … that is of course if the paperwork ever gets done.

I went in at 10:30am with the understanding I’d sign the offer that afternoon and no word. It’s a holiday weekend though, so I figure that’s probably the problem. I’ll probably go next Tuesday.

I expect a counter offer (probably full price) and will probably accept that … with … all my contingencies in place of course.

I know I can afford it monthly and owning is MUCH better than renting. And the space is completely EMPTY, so it’ll be mine to upfit … which of course means more money that I already spent, but I talked with another mortgage guy today and he said we’d get creative, to call him next week. And of course I have my trusty friends with their engineering backgrounds and MBA’s to help steer me in the right direction and give me solid advice. It’s good to know people!

So, here goes nothing. Owning is big time … it really makes it real. Ron just needs to finish our taxes so all my year-end documents can be official. 🙂 Hint hint, honey. 😉 🙂
