I have three contracts and my own business in place. I need another me to be able to able to finish all the work in front of me. I’m on retainer 10 hrs/wk for my old company. I’m on retainer 10 hrs/wk for another company and I’ve just been retained for another 10+ hrs/wk for my old old company (two jobs back).
So while I was sitting at dinner yesterday I said, with my head in my hands,
“I have SO much to do! Why did I quit my high paying, little work job?”
Ron laughed and said, “I’ve been wondering that! Now, instead of lots of money and no work, you are getting little money and lots of work.”
Actually, that’s not quite the case. Money is fine. The flexibility is superb. The jobs are great. The “being on my own” is FANTASTIC. Even when I put in long hours, it’s for ME! And that part is AWESOME!
So, as my friend Amber said in her congratulatory note to me when I announced I’d quit my job …
“Now you won’t have to work 40 hours a week. You’ll get to work 60 to 80!”
Yup! And it’s ALL worth it!!!
Ha! Welcome back into self-employment my dear. And you know…life has never felt so worthwhile…once you’re in you’ll never go back (or if you do, it will be under GREAT duress!)
