TJA : Why I don’t wear mascara anymore

… because it’s pointless.

My Angel today, became an angel in the middle of her session. I am actually raw from this one. It really struck deep. Mom was by herself but with a social services based caregiver. Dad was with their younger daughter and Grandpa arrived shortly after. But I was there. I was there to witness this little angel take deep deep breaths and then have periods of absolute stillness. Then deep deep breaths again and periods of stillness, until such time as the stillness took over and there were no more deep deep breaths. Her mom was the one that officially noticed and called the nurse who confirmed it. A pink hat, adorned with a golden angel covered the only flaw in this little girl…. but a flaw that cost her her life.

I met Keva at 11:00 am. I said goodbye to her at 12:00 pm.
