Ron was out last night, so I had the girls and Joseph to myself (for the first time!) So, anyway, I was getting everyone ready for bed and Emily went right to sleep.
Abby though, the night-owl, did not and began to cry, which woke up Em. Got her out of the crib and Em managed to fall back to sleep. Abby seemed content, so I laid her back down (dumb!) and she cryed and woke up Em again. Got her out (semi-permanently) and Em fell back to sleep.
Now, what to do with Abby? I had laundry to fold and bed to make and a shower to take (since I’d gotten may hair cut). Can’t do everything 1 handed, and putting Abby down in one place while doing all the activities wasn’t going to work either.
So, I pulled out the extra bouncy seat that we have, which is a Fisher Price Kick-n-Play and only activates the music and lights when the baby makes enough movement. It was great!
She sat in it while I finished everything. Not only did she sit, but she loved it. She figured out how to make the music go. Her little feet would kick and thus land on the pads and the music would start. Then, I could tell she wanted to grab the hanging things. But, she wasn’t trying with her hands, just her head! She was leaning as far forward as the restraints would let her trying to get to them. Any time she’d “fall” back to the seat it would bounce the seat enough to move the hanging things and start the music again. 🙂
She was probably in that seat for 30 minutes and got the music and lights going probably 20 times! It was really quite neat to watch!
