And Oh My Goodness, was it hot! 4:30pm in Greensboro, NC and it’s 101 degrees! Yikes! There is a 50% chance of rain tomorrow, but the rehearsal is on today in the hope of no rain for this outdoor wedding.
After some organization and instructions, we tested it all out. We only ran through it once, but I think Ron and I remember going through it 3+ (maybe even 5) times at our rehearsal. I was anal about getting it right. 🙂
Steph’s minister was a bit unique. 🙂 She was nice, but seemed to be putting this wedding on HER schedule. She wanted all the walking down the aisle stuff to happen at 6:15pm even though the wedding was announced for 6:30pm. I, of course, HAD to start an argument and in the end, it got pushed to 6:25. The minister said that in 10 years of doing weddings, she’s always started 15 minutes early. I gotta tell you, I’ve NEVER once heard of that. As a matter of fact, in 32 years of weddings, I can’t remember ONE that started on time because people are naturaly late!
Her analogy of a movie starting “on time” was full of holes, but I could see I was stressing Steph out, so I shut up. 🙂 Anyone that knows me knows that was hard to do! 😉
Rehearsal went well though. I tried to keep it light as I could see Steph was stressing. Shawn’s brother Kevin did the same. 🙂 I think if Steph and Shawn could’ve eloped right then and there they might have. LOL So much fuss, pomp and circumstance for one “little” event”.
The girls did great “practicing” but the encouragement factor was quite great. They were just so distracted! In the end, we were planning to have some enticement with us at the front — at the “alter” to get them up to it. It was funny though, watching them. 🙂 Just as sweet as could be!
Walking down the “aisle” with the parents…
and up to the “alter” with at least 1 flower girl
With the Matron of Honor! Stephie was a little emotional. 🙂
Afterward, we all headed out to the rehearsal dinner for good food, fun and the Steph and Shawn MOVIE!
