not to leave his bike out of his reach.
Joseph called me at the studio in a panic. His bike was missing.
He told me that he and his friend Spencer had both ridden down to the creek, parked their bikes by a tree and walked around. They went and got another of their friends and eventually made their way back to their bikes only to find them both missing!
Yikes!
After a bit of searching, they found Spencers IN the creek. Go figure.
That’s when Joseph called — because they could NOT find his. 🙁 No bike.
I called Ron who was going to call the police, but called Joseph to check with him and a few minutes later, they had found the bike — IN the creek about 100 yards away.
So, some idiot kids decided it would be fun to mess with a couple of pre-teens by throwing their bikes in the creek. Sheesh.
Well … in any case, Joseph is “grounded” from his bike for a bit because none of this would have happened if he had listened to his dad — he wasn’t supposed to ride it today because the back tire is still messed up and it needs to go to the fix-it-shop.
The boys weren’t much the worse for wear — a bit of semi-frostbite on their toes from having to get INTO the creek to get the bikes. Maybe that and the scare of losing their bikes will have them keeping them in their sight from now on!
Thought I doubt it. 🙂
