But Dad’s don’t go to work.

So says Emily.

Here is the story as I heard it from Ron … but amidst my laughter, I may have missed a few details (not key ones).

So …

The girls were playing Mom and Dad — where one is Mom and one is Dad. They walk around with their babies in the strollers, put them to bed for naps, feed them, etc. This round they were putting them down for naps in Ron’s extra office chair with taggie-blankets for covers (the Taggie blanket with ALL the tags, not Abby’s “taggie”).

Ron asked the girls who was who (Mom and Dad) and where they were going (since they were leaving the girls in the chair). Apparently they were going to work — and when asked further about Dad (Abby) not going to work, Emily explained “but Dad’s don’t go to work!”

As you can see, their perception of Mom and Dad is much different than that 50’s perception — of Dad going to work and Mom staying home. 🙂 Is it perhaps the new 50s? 🙂 If so, then why isn’t there a hot meal on the stove every night and a super clean house with ironed sheets? And why do I have to do *anything*? 😉 😉 😆
