The kindness of strangers

On Sunday, at Red Robin, Joseph wanted to play the crane game and so as we departed, he took his dollar worth of quarters and headed to play the game.

As we walked up there was a guy, who’d already had lunch, who’d just won a stuff elephant and offered it immediately to Abby because, according to him, “he just likes playing the game.”

Seeing there were two of them, he quickly started playing again — three more times trying to win something for Emi. I assured him it was ok and Joseph would take his one turn and the girls could share.

As luck would have it, Joseph won a white Care Bear on his first try and both girls left Red Robin with their newest favorite animals — affectionately named … drum roll please … care-beary and elephanty. 🙂

It was so nice of the guy to 1) give up the winnings and 2) to try again at his own expense! 🙂
