I forgot! First strawberry picking!

The girls and I went to Buckwheat Farms in Apex (basically around the corner from us) to do some strawberry picking on Sunday. They were ALL excited about it and talked about going the whole way home from church.

So, we set out, just the three of us and went to pick.

The fields are large and FULL of strawberries — some good, some not. But the clincher for the girls’ were the horses and goats next to the strawberry fields. Once they saw those then strawberry picking kind of went on the back burner. Go figure. 🙁

But I managed to “pull” them to the field and get them to pick. Emi picked one. Abby picked one. I picked the rest. Emi complained about straw and sand in her shoes. Abby just wanted to go see the horsey. 🙄

We picked a whopping $2.02 of strawberries which was the perfect amount for fresh strawberry pie (which we made, of course, that night). Yum!!

So, while not the best of adventures, it was worth it.

Oh … and by the time we were done “picking” the horses had gone in their small barn but the goats were out so we went and “talked” to the goats and said ‘hi’ to the dog hanging out between two rows of strawberries. 🙂
