Now I’m in debt beyond my eyeballs, but it’s an INVESTMENT, right? 🙂 🙂 It is.
Now, if only I could find a contractor that won’t charge me an arm and a leg. 🙁 Still working on it, though, if my hunch is right, I have the right one … 🙂
Mike Barnhill called ME, on the suggestion of the Engineer that drew up the engineering plans. Mike has been *THE* most helpful guy … in the 1.5 weeks that we’ve been talking. Just like Ray … my banker and Michele, my new insurance agent. Super helpful people with amazing ways of making things work.
Anyway, so far, despite not having a solid estimate, Mike has been really helpful … very up front, coming to ME to talk about things, instead of my having to chase him down. This is the KIND of guy I WANT to work with … so I WANT to work with him. 🙂
And HE thinks we can do it for “around” our budget, but given a recent discovery, it WILL be over. 🙁 Apparently, I need to tie into the fire alarm and have sprinklers and the companies that do those tend to “overcharge”. 🙁 Wah.
So, somehow, in the next 4 months, I need to come up with A LOT of money. For one, I’m now paying double my rent … one mortgage payment and one lease payment, plus all the construction.
Cross fingers. Say a prayer. Whatever works for you. 🙂 Prayer works best for me. The day after my prayer about finding the right contractor, Mike called. See? 🙂
