TJA : A sweet sweet angel

I know I haven’t blogged much about recent NILMDTS sessions, but that’s just because sometimes I can’t think about them anymore and other times, it’s weird … so I just don’t. But, Miss Tucker Glenn is worthy of some notes. I can’t tell you how much being a part of this organization means to me. My first session was one of a set of twins … the second twins is at HOME now! 😀

This last one was also a set of twins, but, as I believe is always the case, there was a reason for Tucker’s life and her death. She did not live more than three weeks, but she survived over 10 weeks past when the Docs knew she had no hope for life. Her Mom and Dad were surprised with twins, just months after the birth of their third son. Surprised and shocked, they found out early on that they were having a girl … but that their little girl would not live.

The only hope was that she’d hang on long enough to give her brother a shot at life. It was expected that she would pass at every visit…. at every checkup and at every step of her growth. But Tucker kept growing … and as her mom told me, she grew to help her brother. She kept living to give her brother life. Finally, at 31w, Tucker and her brother Brady were born and Tucker still survived.

It was only through strong parents that Tucker is no longer with us. They knew she had no hope. Tucker gave her life for her brother and her brother is a strong, healthy boy who will join him family on a daily basis while Tucker will be in their memories and in the images I created for them.

This was a super sweet family who was clearly in love with BOTH their little boy and their little girl. I could feel that from them. They’d had a lot of time to prepare so there were no tears … or not many … but the emotion was there … especially as I set up MANY images of Tucker and her brother Brady.

Brady has a special angel now … one no one but a twin would understand the like of. These sessions leave me raw but happy. They challenge me emotionally because of my own girls, but as always, they leave me with a sense of peace … that while there is another angel in heaven, she’s an angel I got to meet … just once.
