Conference Day 5 and a blast from the past!

Last day. Today was all about Marketing. Not that I learned much NEW given my MBA, but it was all a great refresher and has prompted me to do a few things differently.

While in the session I noticed someone I knew (not that I didn’t already know several but this was someone “else”). It was the photographer from our wedding!! 🙂 Dean Chavis was there listening in. He’s still a full time photographer in Winston-Salem. He and I chatted for quite a while and during breaks. I filled him in on what I was doing and talked shop in general. Pretty cool!!

I also picked up my prints from the competition. Got all three of my 79s and also got my other three and saw their scores – 77, 76 and 74. The lowest scoring print was my sister’s bridal portrait! That one blew me away! I *really* thought that one would do better.

As we all know though, #1 — we are not the judges and #2 — if the customer buys and the judges didn’t like it who wins? Obviously ME because $$ is more important than an 80 score from a judge! 😉
