Today’s session was broken up into two parts. The first was from 9-12 and the second half form 3-6. Vicky Tauffer and Illinois-based photographer of seven years who works out of a renovated bowling alley. She charges big bucks for her stuff and while I admire that, it’s just not my cup ‘o tea. Shoot, the photographer that talked on Sunday is in Detroit and she charges something like $3600 for a 30×40! Holy Cow! I charge somewhere around $600 for something very similar. I guess different areas of the country can command different prices.
In any case, to each his own. Perceived value is what it’s all about. Photography is not about the cost of an 8×10, it’s about the service, uniqueness, individuality, style, etc. of the photographer. 🙂 That’s probably why I like it so much. There may be 300 photographers in the RDU area, but we are ALL different with something different to offer just because of who we are!
In any case, back to today’s speaker — amazing woman. Amazing everything. Big bucks from her clients and big bucks into her studio. she’s a fantastic speaker. I gotta admit that too. Just great!!
