Quitting my job, going contract and getting my studio up and running has been the *best* move I have ever made career-wise. 🙂 I mean *BEST*.
It’s not just been money, either. Yes, I’ve worked harder than I have in years (or so it seems), working late at night sometimes, but it’s been for stuff *I* want to do. I have been more creative. I have been more free. Everything has been flexible on MY schedule.
I had lunch with Joseph on day and didn’t fret over “getting back to the office”. I have lunch with the girls nearly every day … and with Ron if he isn’t facing his computer the whole time. 🙂 I don’t get up at the crack of dawn either to make all this happen … strangely I’m becoming more of a night owl than before, although Ron has me beat there by a loooooooooooooong stretch.
31 days ago, I was worried. I just didn’t know what would/could happen, but the best things have been happening and continue to. I booked my 3rd wedding for the year … tonight! And it was from a referral. See? This is awesome!
My contracting work is what’s keeping me up late because I fool around with the kids and my own stuff too much during the day, but it’s worth it.
My studio, this role I have given myself and my new found freedom are just beyond awesome. My hope is that I’ll NEVER take it with a grain of salt… that I’ll never take it for granted and always work hard to achieve and educated myself and keep working at bettering both my business skills, my philanthropy and my creative talents. 😀
If January is any indication of the rest of 2007 then this is going to be an awesome year!!
