We have created a monster!

Emily and Abby have a vocabulary that is absolutely amazing. Too amazing in fact. Here is a little example from my and Emi’s conversation about getting into the bathtub tonight.

Usually, as we go up for a bubble bath, the girls are both very excited and dying to jump in, standing over the edge of the tub as the water warms up to proper temperature; or trying to get in before its ready. Tonight, for whateve reason, Emily decided she needed a shower first, before the bath. 🙄

So, while she was “playing” in the shower, Abby was ready for bubbles and I plopped Abby into the tub. Abby played happy, all by herself (getting ALL the bubbles to herself) and Emily continued to procrastinate! I proceeded to try and entice Emi to *decide* to get into the bubbles.

Me: Emily [said in a sing song voice], the bubbles are ready
Emi: I shower first!
Me: But Emily … the bubbles! They are all bubbly!
Emi: No, I gonna shower first!
Me: Emily … Abby’s in the bubbles all by herself. Abby gets all the bubbles to herself
Emi: No mommy! I gonna shower first.
Me: Ok, but Abby’s having fun! She’s got LOTS of bubbles [and they were really started to build at this point so I knew Emi could see them.]
Emi: What’s your point?

I about burst out laughing, but I was so shocked that I failed to laugh.

Me: What’s my point?
Emi: What’s your point?

This was said with a COMPLETELY serious face, and given it was repeated, I KNOW that’s what she said.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
