Construction day #1!

Woohoo! It’s been a day of ripping up flooring and getting to work. Derek and I met at Lowes this morning to purchase the stuff he needs to make the floor work. So my day started at 8:00 am … at Lowes. That was fun. I couldn’t sleep all night … kept dreaming studio related stuff and waiting for the morning to start to get moving. 😀

Steph came down around 11am and Ron went flying through lunch. Since Derek is hard at work on the floor, Steph and I taped and then headed out for some shopping! The girls headed out with us to.

Shopping you say? Oh yeah! I need to look for some stuff! The finds were awesome …

o A blue leather kid’s couch at Sheldon’s Consignment Furniture downtown
o Two director’s chairs at the same place
o An antique children’s school desk (couldn’t resist!!)
o A wonderful coffee table
o A very cool easel and some statueettes from HomeGoods

Ron and I headed back to the studio around 4pm and Steph stayed to watch the girls (and Joseph in a round about way). We worked to clean up more and tape more and prep more.

Derek had replaced subflooring that was bad too 🙁 and had a great start on the floating floor for the tile in the small room. Before we left, we helped lay about 3/4 of the tile! Woohoo!

Day one … all rooms look the same except the floor in the small studio is going in!
