Duke University didn’t get involved with NILMDTS until just last month. But, in August, a little boy lost his life too and Grandpa took a bunch of photos with his point and shoot camera. My Duke contact asked me if I would be willing to help this family, in some way, at least create a slideshow for them. I agreed… of course.
Today, I got the CD of images, documenting her pregancy up through the baby’s last breath. 🙁 Of course MANY of the images are off color, poorly cropped, essentially, done by someone who is in the midst of grief, not thinking through it from a documentary photography aspect.
So, you’re probably thinking “what can Aimee do with them?” Actually, a heck of a lot. Each has amazing potential and while it’ll take some work, I’m going to do it for them, just as if they were a NILMDTS family from the start.
November has NOT been a good month for me … from a photography perspective. Ron hears me complain all the time about the slowness of the month — which is really bad when this is considered the “busy season”. Instead of paying customers, I’m now working my third NILMDTS project. Seems like an odd way of “filling the time” but in the end, I KNOW there is a reason and if this is all I ever get to do photography-wise, well, then so be it. I’ll just have to figure out a way to make it pay the bills ‘cuz I can’t keep doing this AND my “real” job. The “real” job is just going to have to go … and soon.
Ok. Enough of that. Off to bed.
