We had a BLAST at the picnic tonight. I went as both “member” and photographer. That was fun! I love documenting events like today’s picnic party. As usual, there was TONS of food, the girls had a blast and Joseph practically disappeared for the duration of the event. Our music minister is hilarious (and from Flint, MI!!) and really got into the dancing with the kids … along with being an all around funny guy.
Abby sat in a chair she “stole” from another little kid while the group was dancing. She kept picking it up and moving it every time I went to another location to take a photograph. 😆
And then, she wanted me to take HER photograph. She did a big “cheese” (which I hate), so I took this one. 🙂
Our day started normally, with church and lunch. Lunch however, turned into a rather big crowd and since we needed to kill 3 hours (didn’t want to drive home) we hung out at Cici’s pizza for 1/2 that time… with Catherine and Becky. 😀 The girls looooooooooove Becky! Then we went to the Apple store. 🙁 At least that was the only bad part of the day!
The girls hooked up with Brooke & Haley as often as they could. Or, they were stealing Genevieve’s chair and etch-a-sketch thing. 😀 The three of them were sharing! 🙂 Very sweet. At one point Abby fell and scraped her knees. Later, Emi did the same. So now us girls all have scraped up knees (yes, Mommy included!)
The picnic included a bubble machine, two giant inflatable “moon walks” and a blow-up basketball game.
The girls wanted to get into the moon walk … took off their shoes and everything!
and eventually, Emi went in … but Abby did NOT!
Around 6pm, we all walked down to the lake (we were at Beaverdam at Falls Lake) for baptisms! Four people had expressed interest and were planned to baptised. So, off we went. It was great! Everyone stood on the dock while the baptisees and their families were down in the water. Once the fourth baptism was complete, we started to depart. 1/2 way back we were “called” back because we had one more surprise request! Woohoo! I headed back down with E&A yelling at me “Mommy! Come back! Mommy! Come back!” 😆 I hadn’t paid one bit of attention to my battery power though and as I snapped the last shot of the night… the last of the baptism shots, my battery died. Wow. I call it divine intervention… because I needed those last three photos and got ’em.
We walked back, packed up and drove the 1 hour (ish) home. What a fun day!
