If you want good, down home, country, pulled pork bbq, go there in Augusta, but don’t go expecting a clean, swept, fancy, service oriented place. It’s a HOLE in the wall, to the extreme. The building is an old ranch home. The smokehouse looks to be the old detached garage. The tables are folding tables like I own for my booth. The chairs are old metal, padded seat chairs. The sanitation rating was a 90 (pushing it in my book!). The owner, Dennis, is an older guy, in a white t-shirt, sweating like a pig due to the heat of the kitchen. Very, very nice guy though!!
It was recommended to us by one of the civilians at Ft. Gordon (in Augusta — where I was) so we decided to be adventurous. He was right about the food and the price, but you have to have a strong heart/mind/stomach to walk in. 🙂
Mmmmm Mmmmm good… just a little scary. 😉
