Pretend play

I keep forgetting to write about this, but it’s really quite amazing. They seem to understand the concept of “pretend” already. While they love their kitchen, and they play with it regularly, they also love to “feed” you blueberries form the Blue board book they got.

In the “Blue” book, the 5 pages are of things that are blue. One page is of blueberries. While at G&G’s Grandma was pretending to feed blueberries from the blueberry page of that book.

Now, the girls do it all the time.

As a matter of fact, today, Ron told me that Emi came up to him with her thumb and index finger together going “unh unh unh”. He thought (as I would have) that she had a hair she wanted off her fingers. This is a common occurrence for Emi, so nothing out of the ordinary.

Well… that’s not what it was at all! She was “feeding” him blueberries. He got the hint when he saw the book in her other hand. 🙂

She was taking pretend blueberries off the page and feeding them to him, to Abby and to herself. She does this to/for me pretty often and I just think it’s the cutest thing!

Every once in a while, she’ll feed us boots, toothbrushes, socks, etc., but most just pretend blueberries. 🙂

Oh… Abby does this too… it just happened that Emi had the book today. 🙂
