We went to the North Pole!

We were given the opportunity by another TS’er to go enjoy the Santa Train at the Museum of Life Sciences in Durham tonight. Unfortunately, her children got sick and she had to cancel, but there were no refunds. So, she contacted me and offered us the tickets — 3 of them to be exact… the girls didn’t need tickets.

So, we took the offer and headed out. It was the cheesiest little adventure but the girls *and* Joseph abolustely loved(!) it!

We arrived to a path strung with Christmas lights and decorations and up near the train station, there were some little activities, face painting, gifts to buy and hot chocolate.

There were blow-up snowmen, santa and a blow-up snow globe too… the girls were fascinated with that one.

So we took the 6:40pm train to the North Pole. We arrived promptly on time and were greeted by three elves and Santa himself.

Santa made his way from the back to the front of the train asking each little girl and boy what he/she wanted for Christmas. Joseph said a new staff and sword. Ugh.

Anyway… Emily’s reaction was the same as Friday… scared. She was sitting with Ron and Ron said he could feel her tense up. Abby was with Joseph and I and she just started to cry. 🙁 Poor babies! But they did both say bye-bye to Santa again. 🙂

We then learned that Rudolph had gotten away when he was out on a walk and all the kids were asked to look for him as we traveled back to the station from the North Pole… of course, his bright, shining and blinking red nose was spotted in the middle of the forest.

We returned to get the final two faces painted and one more quick cup of hot chocolate for Joseph then made our way out for dinner.

All in all, it was a blast!!
