I have come up with a new business idea… in line with my photography, but yet another outlet and potential money making endeavor. Essentially, it is to digitize children’s artwork such that it is not lost due to neglect (storage in cardboard boxes in the attic, for example), getting ruined, the acid in the construction paper disintegrating the item, dogs eating them, wrinkles and crinkles ruining them, not having enough space on the walls, fridge or other display location, etc.
I keep thinking that I have these poster-sized pieces of art from Joseph that I’ll be lucky if he ever sees when he’s an adult. Some are just awesome and I don’t want them ruined long-term. But I’m also not a pack-rat, so I want to throw them out, but still keep them. I know, contradictory, but still, a neat idea, *I* think.
So, I thought I’d try it out and see where it leads. With my camera, lights and studio space, it’s perfect for taking a digital photo, because due to the size of these things, scanning just isn’t going to work. So we’ll see. 🙂
