State Troopers, stickers and my photos!

After the pig races, we walked back up toward the Kerr Scott building, were my photos are on display! 😀

Of course, in the meantime, we had to stop and check out the masonry and electrical competition (for joseph), the hot tubs (for me) and the games and rides and food that were surrounding us.

Eventually we made it up to the building … and had to stop in at the NC State Trooper area where they show the old trooper cars, helicopter, wrecked car (to prove the point about seatbelts) and motorcycles… ah… guess who ogled those? 😉

Joseph began his sticker collection here… as did the girls. Usually, JTB puts them on himself, but with no jacket (as it was too darn hot!) he opted to store them in the diaper bag.

We walked through the Scott building, like always, hitting the artwork last. But, we did make it and tada!

Of course, I asked Ron to take one of me with my photos, too!

The funniest thing happened while we were there too. We were finished being proud of mine and were looking at other photos — of which some were beautiful! I personally did not care for the winners, but alas, I wasn’t a judge. 😉

While marveling at all the other art, I heard this group of people behind me talking about the feet! They were an older group — 50s ish. About 8-10 of them, obviously traveling the fair together. This is what I heard.

Lady: “I think these are two girs and two boys.”
Other lady: “I think these are four girls.”
Man: “Well it’s got to be at least one girl because of the painted toe nails.”

Given it was mine, I figured I’d enlighten the bunch and stepped over

Me: “Are you all talking about this photo? It’s four girls.” 😀
Them: “See, I told you. Is this your photo?”
Me: “yes, it is!” [big grin from me]

So, we went on to keep looking and I hear my name called.

Man: “Aimée!?”
I turned around.
Lady to her friend: “He has a question for her seeing as he’s known her for so long.” [insert me laughing]
Man: “Is this a photograph?” — pointing to a very pretty pond/landscape photo. I walked over to take a look.
Lady: “He has to ask your opinion… since you and he have known each other so long.”

I looked at the photo — definately a photo and very beautiful. Foggy, nighttime scene on a pond with ripples. The man didn’t think the ripples could be captured like that.

Me: “Yes, it’s a photograph. Focus is on the trees in front, quick shutter speed shows the ripples in stopped-motion.”
Lady: “See, I told you. He just couldn’t take my word for it, had to hear it from a professional. You should probably run and run quickly or he’ll keep asking your opinion… given how you and he are old friends now.”

Oh so funny. I couldn’t stop laughing at the whole situation for while. Ron got a kick out of the part he heard too and my retelling it.

I think at last count Joseph had 10 or so stickers just from the Scott building. 😉
