Joseph and I waited at the bus stop today for the bus. This will be the first time he rides the bus to school… ever! This is also his first day of third grade. I am praying, praying, praying that it goes well… today, this week, this month, this year.
He showed no signs of nerves or anything as he got on the bus. It arrived just after 8:20 am and I chatted with the bus driver for a sec. Joseph missed the first week of school, so she didn’t know he was set to ride her bus. Anyway, she told me the stop was moved (closer to our house — woohoo!) so we can wait there in the future… and he’ll be dropped there too.
He was all set with his new bookback, his lunch including a bottle of frozen water, Gatorade, a PB&J (crustless!), SunChips, a Kashi granola bar, Peanut butter crackers (which I doubt he’ll eat) and grapes. We’d gotten up and had breakfast together too… mmmm…. waffles, 1/2 a banana and milk. I’m hoping that food and good sleep each night helps keep him steady during the day.
In any case, here goes nothin’!
