We really had fun walking and riding around Seattle. The big joke is about this “wonderful” monorail. It goes, literally, from the Pacific Science Center at the Space Needle to the Westlake Center mall. 🙂 It was fun though and cheap (which saying a lot in Seattle!)
We took the monorail from the Space Needle over to Pike’s Place Market and did our touring there. Joseph found a lady who makes and sells Ocarina’s, the little musical wind instrument that Link uses in the Legend of Zelda (video game). I was in awe at them. Ron had already looked them up. Joseph was dying for one, so that became his “Seattle souvenier”.
While walking around the market, Emi fell asleep, but Miss Abigail wanted to see everything around her and was WIDE awake. 🙂
We saw the fish market, lots of vendors, junk, etc. It was a combination of flea market, farmers market and Paris all wrapped into one. Small, little, miniature businesses lined the right side and the other side was packed with tables and *stuff* for sale… all sorts… There were fresh flowers that were in these gorgeous arrangements for $6. I can’t even get that type of thing here! They were beautiful!
Of course, after we walked around, we took the monorail back (our hotel was much closer to the Space Needle than the market). We had to go back through the Westlake Center, so while we were waiting, Joseph participated in one of his favorite activities… riding the escalator.
