What is up with people? Yes, we have twins. Twins are no different than any other baby, except that there are two.
We went to dinner after the park and we were waiting for a table in the lobby area. I’d requested to be as far from smoking as possible … so they were preparing a table in the back corner for us. We’re just standing there, me holding Abby, Ron holding Em and Joseph between us.
This group of older people starts to walk out and obviously one of the babies caught the eye of one lady. She stops and says “my, what a beautiful baby” then realizes there are two and say “oh, they’re twins”. Then, she proceeds to call her friend who’s already out the door, back *in* to the restaurant so she can see the girls.
Then, the people behind them stop and ooh and ahh, too. The woman that was outside and has come back in says to me “I didn’t even notice, I’m sorry.” Like I was expecting her to stop and comment on my girls. Uh… nope.
Then, they realize they haven’t paid a bit of attention to Joseph, so they ask him his name and if he likes being a big brother. He proceeds to tell them *all* our names (Ron and mine too) and the ladies say to me “can’t forget big brother now can we.” No, thanks ladies, I don’t forget him… ever.
I guess they finally got their fill of us because they departed and we were seated. It makes me not want to go out with the girls because of all the stares, comments, etc. but not enough to cook, so I guess we’ll keep going. 😉
