We really did have a blast at the zoo. The girls didn’t sleep a wink through the entire tour. Basically, that meant they were awake from 11am when we arrived to 4pm at our departure. No nap!
On of the stops that we took was to see the Rhinos. Ron took this shot and after we looked at it we started to laugh.
Don’t think about the fact that we were at a zoo. Doesn’t it look like you could just be looking out someone’s window… into their yard? Except… there is a rhinocerous out there?
We saw the elephants (very orange and dirty), the baboons (baby ones, too!), and eventally stopped for a frozen lemonade and shared it between the 5 of us… yup, the girls too! It was sour (and I don’t even really like sour) but Ron and Joseph do! So, I’d spoon a little into the girls’ mouths. Abby would eat it without too much of a face. Em would make the “sour face” and then open for more. 🙂
In the monkey building, there were a bunch of ramps for strollers, wheel chairs, etc. Here’s us on our way up one…
We kept walking and saw the Patas monkeys (very cute!) and the lions. Joseph wanted his picture taken on a rock…
and with the lions.
All in all, it was a great trip, we got a bit too much sun, but it was oh so worth it!!
