Teething sucks!

I can’t put a February 9 date on this entry because it kept going well into February 10th… early morning hours.

Emily was more fussy than usual yesterday for Ron and was super-fussy when she went to bed. She’d wake up and cry *every time* we laid her down in the crib. We’re talking every time.

At first, I thought I’d give her some Tylenol. Tried that… didn’t help. I took her downstairs, upstairs to her room on Grandma’s inflatable mattress which is still there… didn’t work. If she laid down, she’s cry. So, I thought reflux.

I gave her a “shot” of Zantac, tried again in our bed… nope, her bed, nope… downstairs, nope. By now, it’s near 1am

Ron suggested Orajel again (she’d already had it twice during the day). So, I took her into the bathroom and laid her on the floor and put Orajel on her mouth. Mmmmm… she liked that. She sucked on the applicator — as she usually does ;).

So, I tried again… our bed, downstairs, the air mattress. Ugh. Nothing. I ended up taking her downstairs and taking off her jammies. By this time, Ron came down and took her for a bit. Since the Orajel should have just started working, I took a diaper-clad Em upstairs and tried to nurse her again. Nope.

So, Ron took her and held her upright and just rocked and she conked out. He oh so very carefully laid her down in our bed and she immediately woke up. But, I turned her quickly on her side and cuddled her against my shoulder and she did manage to fall back to sleep… thank goodness.

And, where was Abby during all this? Fast asleep in the crib. 🙂 She slept until 2:45am, woke to eat, went right back in the crib and stayed asleep until 8:30am! Go Abby!

And, based on this, it looks like they sleep much better when they are *not* in the same crib, so I think we’re going to have to get our hands on another one. Oh goody… more money to spend.
