After we got the girls to bed, Joseph, Ron and I set up the first of the many volcano eruptions. This set-up actually has multiple volcanoes on it. The first is done with the biggest, flatest volcano (don’t know it’s name, but we have labels). Each time we run through one, we have to read information on volcanoes and follow the directions.
Setting it up… The volcano landscape is raised on plastic tubing and the volcano bottle is placed beneath and prepped with baking soda and vinegar.
Some gentle squeezing of the bottle forces the baking soda and vinegar to mix and the eruption to start…
Here you can see it “flowing” down into the riverbed. Our lava, however, is not very colorful. We might add some food-coloring to the next eruption!
