6 month check-up!

We had our official 6 month checkup today.

Emily is 26.25 inches long (60%); weighs 14 lbs exactly(!) (20%) and has a head circumference of 41.3 cm (12%). What’s so funny about her measurments is that she grew exactly 2, 2, 2 & 2… 2 inches, 2 pounds and 2 centimeters in 2 months!

Abby is 26.5 inches long (75%); weighs 14 lbs 12 oz (30%) and has a head circumference of 41.1 cm (10%).

So, long skinny babies!

Developmentally Emily is ahead in large muscle and mechanical development and Abby is ahead in small muscle/fine motor skills. We knew this to be true before we filled out the questionnaire.

Em loves to be on her belly and is moving around and will “try” just about anything — grabbing, rolling, lifting. Abby likes to think through things, so she hasn’t tried all the “new” stuff. She’s content in her exersaucer with her existing toys where she can study them.

They both love to stand and are starting to sit on their own. Oh, and the Dr. laughs (just as everyone else does) when they do their ab crunches. Head and feet up at the same time while on their backs!

Of course shots… they got flu, RSV and DTaP (?). We’ll do the other three in 2 weeks (I just don’t have the heart to do 6 shots at once!).

We’re moving to stage 2 foods. They’ve tried all the stage 1s and Dr. said wait on the proteins for another month at least (to get them to 6 months adjusted age) but cheerios and stuff were ok’d.

And finally, no teeth. Not even a bud. Dr. thinks their drooling and chewing is a developmental phase, not teething just yet. If that’s the case, I can’t even begin to imagine teething drool! We’re going to be swimming in it!

Here’s us and our bandaids…
