Miss Independent!!!

After our (very late) return home this evening, I got the girls’ dinner ready (cereal with pears). When you feed my girls and they are super-hungry and you are going slow, they sound like Beavis and Butthead as I’ve posted previously.

When you feed my girls and they are just lazily eating, or want something else, or are done, they make a “Mmmmnnnn” Mmmmmmeennnnhhhh” sound. They do it repeatedly and sometimes kick their feet. And, they keep their mouth closed.

Em does this sometimes when she wants milk from the bottle in between bites of food. So, tonight, when she started up, I offered her the bottle. She ate some, then started the noise again. So I offered food. Nope. Offered the bottle. Nope.

So, I put the bottle down on her tray in front of her. Up came her little hands and she started to try and pick it up. I picked it up and offered… she made the sound. Put it down, out came the hands again and she tried to pick it up. I picked it up again, thinking she’s getting frustrated and here comes the sound again. So, I put it down and she got it herself!

Those little hands were trying so hard to grasp the bottle and bring it to her mouth. She got it 2 or 3 times, but never tilted up so she could get milk, just to her mouth (which was a feat in itself!).

But, what a way to be independent. She DID NOT want me to give her her milk. She wanted to do it herself and was telling me that through her sounds and actions! Wow!
