Emily was particularly snuffly…

I woke up at 4am to Emily’s ragged breathing. I could have sworn her face was up against the crib bumper or under the blanket or something, but it wasn’t. She was face up, still asleep, trying very hard to breath through her nose and cough up *something*.

I ended up sitting her up, which made her burp/cough, a horrific noise if I must say so, and proceed to cough up more phlegm.

I think she has a cold/teething issues because she’s draining down her throat, making her gag. I ended up pulling out the bulb syringe (haven’t used it at all ’til now) to get icky stuff out of her nose and mouth. Ugh! Yuck!

I ended up elevating her head a bit which helped drain her sinuses some. So then, at least, she got to eat to go back to sleep. Poor thing!

Ron told me this morning she let out a big burp and to quote home “I sat her up and burped her… Then she let out a multi-stage whopper of a belch.” I think the poor thing needs to beat this illness “thing” which isn’t as bad during the day, and get a tooth, so she can stop drooling into herself! 🙂
