On Saturday, I forgot to give the girls their Zantac. It was an inadvertent error but they didn’t seem to have any negative effects, so we didn’t give it to them at all on Saturday to “test the waters” so to speak.
Then, Sunday, we deliberately didn’t give it to them. And again, it didn’t seem to be a negative thing.
Keep in mind that they are on doses from birth — so, they aren’t getting anywhere near what they should for nearly 11lb babies. But, we kept giving it to them since that’s what we were told to do.
Well, this morning, Ron actually called me because the girls were unconsolable. I could hear them wailing, screaming, crying in the background. We were thinking :
a) teething (it is about that time),
b) still hungry (they ate, but wouldn’t eat any more apparently),
c) the milk was bad (I used a frozen bag), but they’d eaten it all
d) over tired, apparently they woke up after 45 minutes in their swing when usually they take a solid 1-2 hour nap.
We ended on teething, so, Ron was going to get Tylenol and see if it helped, when I remembered we haven’t given them any Zantac in a while.
So, Ron tried that first and tada! Apparently, that worked. He let me know that Abby took it (yes, the 1/2 their size dose) and promptly conked out. Em took hers and is now a happy, smiley baby, instead of a red-faced screaming maniac.
Guess well have to talk to the Pediatrician about that one at their 4 month appointment which is in 11 days!
