We have a missing person in our family. Last night when we got home from the party, I noticed that I wasn’t greeted by OJ as usual. But, sometimes, he gets lazy, so I didn’t think too much about it.
I went about getting the girls ready for bed and Ron ran the sprinklers in the lawn.
When he was finished, I mentioned to him that I hadn’t seen OJ still. But, I was so tired and suffering still from the stupid headache that had plagued me all day, that I did not get up to really look.
At 2:15am, though, after the girls had eaten, I realized, no OJ for real. So, we did a search of the house and yard with no luck.
Keep in mind that our cats are housecats… totally indoor cats. Yes, they think they are outdoor cats, but other than getting out onto the front porch or back deck, they aren’t. And, when they do get out, we scoop them up and bring them back in immediately.
Because of this, they have not gotten certain shots… like the distemper shot… Vets said indoor only cats didn’t need it. Nor have they gotten rabies… again, indoor only cats don’t need it.
We’re not sure when he got out. Could have been when we were packing up the van to go to the party (about 3:30pm) or maybe when we got home (about 8:45pm) since those were the two times that the garage door stayed open the longest.
In any case, he’s missing and we haven’t a clue what’s going to happen next. Maybe he’ll find his way home.
Here he is yesterday, “helping” us with the groceries.
