Long, busy day…

Our girls are troopers! Look what they had to endure! 😉

We started the day at about 8:00 am when they woke up and didn’t want to go back to sleep at all. No problem as I had to get up and get ready for church anyway. They hung out under their Gymini in the bathroom with me while I got ready.

Then, we went downstairs so I could take care of other stuff and they hung out in their bouncies. By 9:30, they were eating again and we packed up for church.

They were BOTH AWAKE(!) during church. Em ate again and Abby filled her diaper. Awe. 😉 Ron was used as an example during Donnie’s lesson so we were really glad he hadn’t brought Abby up with him. Ha ha ha!

After church, we headed out for lunch… ending up with about 8 kids and 7 other adults. We were there until 2pm! Joseph had a blast and so did the girls. Em was held by several folks after she ate (again!) and Abby was held by Daddy until she got hungry (again!) and then nursed herself to sleep. I ended up holding her in my arms with her head and arms all sprawled out — totally asleep.

Phil Candiloro is a trip and got Emily smiling like crazy. Apparently the movements he makes with his eyebrows *always* make babies laugh. Emily was no exception! She was all smiles at him!

By the time we got home, both girls were zonked and we were beat, but by 4pm, we were outside staining the deck — had to be finished today pending the potential rath of Ivan (the hurricane). Since the girls were awake, I brought them out in their bouncies. That lasted about 10 minutes.

So, I brought out their swings. That lasted about 30 minutes (they cat napped). We got quite a bit done in that time though.

Then, I brought out the Gymini and their boppy pillows. Sat them up in those and they lasted another 20-30 minutes. By then though their hunger was evident, so I sat outside on the deck and fed them while Ron continued to paint. It was pushing 6/6:30 pm by this time.

Put them back in their boppies and they lasted another 15 minutes, but were all fidgety, so I ended up bringing them inside (along with all their stuff!) and that was the end of the outside play time. It was quite nice having them with us because it was beautiful outside, with a nice breeze. The fumes from the stain weren’t bad either!

Girls ended up going to bed about 9:00 ish which is normal time, but as you can see, from 8am until then, it was go go go for them!

And, they didn’t sleep any better for having been worn out!
