It turned out to be nearly as easy as with Joseph. 🙂
We left 2 hours later than planned, but it wasn’t just because of the girls. On the contrary, the girls were ready at 11am, but the lawn wasn’t finished being mowed and Ron has a few other things to do before departing.
Once fed, the girls were satisfied for the entire trip. They zonked out and slept the entire way! Yeah!
We left with them again for the wedding. Emily had eaten before leaving, by Abby was a sleepy head and didn’t eat. So, 15 minutes before the wedding, sure enough, Abby woke up and was hungy. So, out I went to feed her.
I missed watching Rebecca walk in since Abby was still eating, but I did get to join for about 5 minutes near the beginning while the preacher was talking about the joining of Rebecca and Lawson. I was keeping a close eye on Abby’s face, waiting for her to yell/scream/cry and sure enough, I saw it coming, so out we went again to eat some more.
She ate for another 5-10 minutes and we returned to see Rebecca and Lawson’s first kiss as husband and wife and then, Emily woke up and we played pass the baby. 🙂 Another 15-20 minutes later and I was able to join the group again.
This time at least, Ron got to see the wedding. He’s missed the last 2-3 (at least them walking in) because of Joseph. We were smart this time though and didn’t bring him. He’d have just been asking when we could go home from the moment we got there.
Needless to say, Rebecca was a beautiful bride and the wedding and reception seemed very much in tune with her and Lawson’s personalities.
Both girls got lots of attention during the reception, too. With Grandma and Grandpa Bickers as well as Ben around, I didn’t have to do too much holding… just feeding when the time came.
We enjoyed lots of yummy food and good vanilla and chocolate cake, too! The girls got their taste within 12-24 hours later! 😉
On the way home from the wedding though, they both woke up hungry. Abby was first, and we spent 10-15 minutes in the church parking lot feeding her while Emily slept. Upon getting going again, but before hitting the freeway, Em woke up hungry, so we spent another 10-15 minutes in the McDonald’s parking lot feeding her. Of course, while Em was nursing, Abby woke up, so I ended up doing a tandem feed in the 2nd row captains chair!
Thank goodness for arm rests on those chairs! 😉
We got home around 11pm/11:30 pm and the rest of the night was restless… see part 2.
