Joseph was doing his daily “homework” that I have assigned to him. It’s all 1st grade review stuff so he doesn’t get behind over the summer.
Anyway, he was working on spelling/math where he had to count and then write out the number of whatever it was in the picture.
One picture was of a peapod, with three little peas in it. Well, Joseph said “Mommy, I can’t do this one.” to which, I responded “Why, not?”.
His response was classic Ron. He said “I don’t know how many peas are in a peapod.” 🙂
What he wasn’t doing was counting the peas in the peapod in the picture, rather thinking through how many would normally be in a peapod. And, since in recent days we’ve referred to peapods a lot, as in “two peas in a pod” it hadn’t clicked.
Too cute!
