Emily had a Brady during her 8am feeding by the nurse, which required “intervention”. Just meant they had to stop and get her to take a big breath. She’s a guzzler when she eats, despite being on the slow flow nipple and just plain forgets to breath!
Then, she had another Brady during her bottle time with me at 11am! She turned nice and blue and dropped her saturation levels to 66 (needs to be above 90 — well above). A bit of rubbing and stimulation again got her going. Ugh!
She nursed like a champ with the help of the lactation consultant during her 2pm feeding though! Yeah! Literally, the little monkey latched and stayed for 30 minutes! We offered her a bottle afterward to see if she was still hungry (or just tired out) and she only took 4cc, which is nothing (she’s at 45cc — 1.5oz per feeding). At 8pm, she latched and nursed like crazy for 20 minutes, then sucked down 38cc of formula. Ok… I have two little miss piggies!
Em’s weight for today: 4lbs 12.5oz

Abby, had a Brady while sucking on a pacifier! Go figure! The only intervention was to pull out the thing. These girls just don’t get that breathing is so important!
She nursed all of 5 minutes at 11am and at 2pm couldn’t have cared less! At 8pm though, she nursed for 15 solid minutes AND sucked down 50cc of formula. Miss piggy!
She lost her umbilical cord today, too! The nurse saved it for me, but I wasn’t quite interested in keeping that as a momento!
Abby’s digestive system has apparently begun to function very well. She kindly provided me and Ron individually full diapers! Oh My! This, however, was Ron’s first diaper change! So far, he’s managed to avoid them… but he’ll have plenty once they get home!
Abby’s weight for today: 5lbs 12.6oz
